Bible Study & Fellowship

Main Scripture

-Hebrews 12:1-2: “Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us.  Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.”

Other Key Verses

-Hebrews 10:26-39

-Hebrews 11

The mission of SURF Student Ministry is to:

-Reach students in grades 7-12 with the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. (Psalm 96:3; Romans 3:23; Romans 8:38-39; Romans 10:9)

-Disciple students in grades 7-12 and allow the Word of God to mold and shape their lives, beliefs, and worldview. (Hebrews 4:12)

-Emphasize the commandment for missions and acts of service. (Galatians 6:9-10; James 2:14-26)

-Display the love of God and allow it to triumph over the evil in our lives.  (1 John 4:7-11)

SURF Student Ministry desires to create a wave of students in this generation who have a hunger for something greater than themselves, Jesus.  We want to raise up a generation who refuses to settle for a shallow faith, but constantly pursues a faith in God, His Word, and His promises that are truly relentless and unshakable, that which is able to withstand the temptations, struggles, heartaches, failures, disasters, and turmoil of life.  We want to be a ministry that reaches and welcomes all students.  We want to be a ministry that seeks out the needs of students and specifically meets those needs.   We want to be a ministry that works with other like-minded groups or ministries to make an even greater impact for the Kingdom.  Above all, SURF Student Ministry wants to see students fall out of love with the world and madly in love with Jesus Christ.

All teachings, events, activities, etc. will be done according to God’s word therefore any type of activity, event, or teaching that would contradict God’s word will not be a part of SURF Student Ministry.  SURF Student Ministry is the student ministry of First Baptist Indialantic, therefore it shall operate under the leadership of the church and maintain the principles, standards, and beliefs of the church and Southern Baptist Convention.
