Eternal life is not only a long life
but abundant life;
its large quantity is matched by high quality. And this satisfaction can be enjoyed
Chuck Swindoll
only when an individual fulfills his or her created purpose
which is to glorify God and enjoy Him fully.
I was so encouraged at the conclusion of each service last Sunday to walk over to the table and discover it had been emptied of the Personality Profiles and Spiritual Gifts surveys. (in case they were gone before you could grab one, there are more on the table today, just for you)
As we continue to discern how Rhythm #6—Serving the Body of Christ—plays out in each of our lives, we must first discover how He has built us, how He has wired us, who we are as the new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17) He has designed us to be, and how we are SHAPEd!
Spiritual Gifts God deliberately shaped and formed you
Heart (Passions) to serve Him in a way that makes your ministry unique.
Abilities [And] nothing that happens in your life is insignificant.
Personality God uses all of it to mold you for your ministry to others
Experiences and shape you for your service to Him.
– Rick Warren, The Purpose Driven Life
While God’s first priority for our lives is holiness, I also join Dr. Swindoll (above) and Dr. John Piper who made the statement:
God is most glorified in us when we are most
satisfied in Him.
We weren’t just saved for eternity; we were saved with a purpose. “… Created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10).
How can we help you find yours?
To quote my friend again,
You’re never more like Jesus than when you’re serving!
