It doesn’t matter how many buildings we construct, churches we plant, or sermons we preach if we’re not intent on doing everything so that lost men, women, and children will experience the transforming work of God.

Several years ago, J.D. Greear (pastor of the Summit Church in Raleigh, NC), along with NAMB, the North American Mission Board, launched the Who’s Your One? initiative, an emphasis designed to mobilize every individual in the church family to identify one person in his or her spheres of influence to pray for and share the gospel with.

It’s not an elaborate or complicated idea, but I can only wonder what might happen if we took it on with intentionality and desire to see God do something amazing through us—especially as we journey through this Advent season!

Imagine if every one of us was praying for and sharing the gospel with at least 1 person.
How would that impact our church?
How would that impact our community?
How would that impact the world?

Last week, a number of you turned in a name and asked us to pray for 1) that individual’s salvation, 2) boldness for you, and an opportunity to share the Gospel. (Just so you’re aware, those cards are still available—they’re by the offering boxes; feel free to jot down a name and put it in one of those boxes.) Know that our staff and elders have been, and will continue to be, praying for you and your ONE!

There is a picture outside my office door, a quote from Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch: “Maybe Christmas,” he thought, “doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.

It actually means an eternity more. And I can’t think of a greater gift you might give someone else than to share the good news of Jesus Christ with them.
So… Who’s Your Christmas ONE?
