No Strings Attached (idiomatic) without conditions or obligations; without a catch Several times throughout the Gospels, Jesus taught us to serve those who could not return the favor. To love them and treat them with kindness… just because. Not only did He teach us to do this, but He modeled it as well!
As we enter into November and toward the holiday season, we are excited to share with you three of the ways we’ll be serving our community this year:
The Christmas Tree Lot
Sunday, November 12 (4-7 pm), we invite you to bring your family as we build and paint our trees. We’ll have “kits” already prepared for you and yours to put together. (We’ll let you know if you need to bring some tools) Then, starting Sunday, November 26 until they’re all gone, the platform in the worship center will be turned into our Christmas Tree Lot with every tree for sale and all proceeds going towards the Mission efforts of FBI. The heartbeat with every tree is that they make their way to homes that might need a little boost of… HOPE.
Stuff-a-Stocking
Also starting Sunday, November 26, there will be a “tree” in the main lobby with stockings, available for you to take one and fill for a child from Genesis House. (Suggestions will be provided). There will also be an option to do something for one of the moms.
That’s a Wrap!
Then, on Saturday, December 9, (9am – 12N) we’ll need about 15-20 folks to join us at the Genesis House to help wrap presents for the moms and children that organization serves. Space is limited, so be sure to let Jen know if you’re interested. (Senior Adults, this is the same day as the Christmas luncheon, just FYI)
So, why do we call it No Strings Attached?
Simply put, because there aren’t any, literally or figuratively. We don’t use it in our wrapping, but more importantly, we’re not doing it for any reason other than to love on the folks who will be receiving the gifts.
No conditions. No obligations. No expectations. No catch.
