Photo of Journey to the Holy Land.

Several years ago, Julie and I were afforded the incredible privilege of visiting Israel with a group from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS). The trip was part of a seminary program designed to provide students with the opportunity of a lifetime, to tour the Holy Land alongside our pastors, professors, colleagues, and friends. We were told it would be a life-changing trip and those who described it as such weren’t wrong.

Walking where Jesus walked (at one point, on water). Sitting where He taught. Visiting the possible locations of His death, burial, and resurrection. The list goes on… For me, the impact came as we studied God’s Word at each site, instruction, and encouragement at the literal places where the events occurred. In this, Scripture “came alive” and reading God’s Word has never been the same since.

After this year, we will have journeyed our first cycle through the Gospels – Matthew (Spring 2020), Mark (Spring 2021), Luke (Spring 2022), and John (2023) – since the Lord brought our little family to First Baptist Indialantic (FBI). As we began our journey through John’s Gospel, several expressed an interest in putting together a trip to the Holy Land.

So, here we go!
In May 2024, through our relationship with NOBTS, we’ll be taking a group from FBI on a 10-day experience to Israel.

Whether you’ve been with us since we started Matthew in the Spring of 2020 or this is your very first Sunday, we invite you to join us on this trip of a lifetime and watch God’s Word come alive in a new and fresh way.

And with that said, consider this your invitation to join us on the trip of a lifetime!
Shalom!
