Photo of It’s an Incredible Week!

To say we miss her is the understatement of the summer. But we know she is exactly where God has called her to be. Last summer, Cadence – our middle – told us she wanted to
apply to be a counselor with Camp WinShape. We were originally introduced to the experience at our church in New Orleans and were blessed to introduce it to our Church
Family here last year. If you didn’t experience it then, you’ll soon find out; it’s an incredible week!

Founded by Truett Cathy (the founder of Chick-fil-A), the entire purpose of the week is to create a 1) high-energy, 2) fun-filled, and 3) Christ-centered environment for the kids and students in our community. And as you’ll soon see, they achieve their goals!

While the opportunities have been a little sporadic due to the intense schedule, we have managed to catch up with Cadence at some point each week. And though she’s obviously tired, she’s usually hungry, and her voice is raspy from cheering and talking all day… there is a joy – an inexpressible and glorious joy (as Peter calls it) – on her face.

As she tells us about the little girl she’s had the opportunity to lead to Christ…
As she shares with us the names of children, she needs us to pray for…
As she talks about her teammates and the friendships she’s building…
As she thinks out loud about what she did that day and her assignment for tomorrow.

She’s tired, and she’s ready to go to bed.
She’s hungry, and they’re just pulling in to grab a bite.
She’s hoarse, but she talks anyway because she’s her mother’s daughter!
She’s exhausted… but she wouldn’t have it any other way.
She’s being poured out like a drink offering (Philippians 2:17).

As you look around today, you may notice some new faces. Our Camp WinShape team is joining us this morning, and we are glad you’re here!

We’re looking forward to an AMAZING week! Church family, please take some time this morning and throughout the week to let these young men and women know how grateful you are for their sacrifice and investment in the Kingdom this summer!

And, Cay-Cay, I don’t know if you’ll ever read this, but I sure am proud of you!
