Church Family …

As we continue to navigate this season, we recognize that it offers both challenges and opportunities.

In the days and weeks to come, we will be working diligently to communicate with you on a consistent basis

  1. to keep you informed of adjustments we may need to make.
  2. to ask how we can best serve you as you have needs.
  3. to make you aware of ministry opportunities that will allow us to continue serving the community to which God has called us.

With that in mind, let me provide you with a brief overview of decisions we have made and directions we are currently taking.

I. Corporate Gatherings

For the foreseeable future, we are suspending ALL church-related activities on the main campus and otherwise. This means Bible Fellowship classes, Midweek, the Senior Adult Revival, and all other regular and special events on the church calendar are either on hold or going to be rescheduled.

The church office will be open during the week,
9:00am – 3:00pm (M-Th) and
9:00am – 12:30pm (F).
If possible, give us a call to let us know you’re coming.

Know that this is not a decision based on fear, but rather one of respect for our governing authorities and those in leadership (Romans 13), as well as our testimony to the community around us.

II. Worship

Sunday mornings, we WILL gather as a church family ONLINE via Facebook Live @ 10:30am. As we discover other delivery methods, we will be exploring them with the hopes of being able to reach out to as many as possible.

While you could obviously tune in and view the service at any point, let me encourage you, as much as possible, to keep our worship time a priority, even as we are practicing the recommended social distancing. The beauty of the church is that we are all in this together! Even in physical isolation … prayer, worship, and the Word of God (along with technology) can bring us together!

That said, don’t just watch. Sign in. Comment. Ask questions. Interact as much as possible. Let’s do whatever we can to be and grow together during this season.

III. Ministry Opportunities

As we work on plans and discover opportunities, we will continue to put those in front of you. For now, prayerfully consider the following and let us know if and where you might be able to help as we serve our Church Family as well as those in our community:

a. Could you provide transportation to doctor’s appointments or help run errands as we discover any of our elderly who may need assistance?
b. Could you provide an extra set of hands to any of our young families – church and preschool – as we discover opportunities there?
c. As we discover opportunities, specifically related to our FBI Preschool, Indialantic Elementary, and Hoover Middle School, would you be willing to help prepare meals for families in need?

In general, let me also encourage you to consider the following:

  1. Continue investing in your family.*
  2. Visit an elderly neighbor and see if you can lend a hand or run an errand.
  3. Prayer-walk your street.
  4. Regularly share the creative ideas you are discovering for activities to do with your family.
  5. Pray for revival … at FBI, in our community, in our nation. Could God use something as difficult and all-encompassing as this to draw people to Himself? Absolutely.

* Sunday, I will be (re)introducing our Church Family – as well as our FBI Preschool families – to RightNow Media, an incredible resource for growth and discipleship, a gift from FBI. Be on the lookout for an email following the service.

IV. Giving

You have heard it stated numerous times already … these are unprecedented times.
More than ever, we need to be faithful with our tithes and offerings. The opportunities before us during this season us are not even fully known yet. People are already looking to the Church for answers and assistance. That is only going to increase. While it’s not necessarily the way we would have desired, we are being offered and entrusted with an opportunity to have a Jesus Impact on our community.

As you continue to give faithfully and generously, we will continue to steward those resources responsibly, for the sake of the Kingdom, and for the purpose of making a difference for Jesus in the lives around us. If we have to, we’ll make necessary adjustments, but hopefully, prayerfully, what we’ll get to do … is the ministry God has called us to!

In the days ahead, you can:
– give online via fbichurch.churchcenter.com.
– drop it by during office hours
– mail it in: 170 Washington Avenue, Indialantic, Florida 32903

Whichever method you prefer, give excitedly, give expectantly, and give knowing that He is able to do immeasurably more than anything we could ask or imagine!

As we navigate the days ahead and make decisions as best we know how with the ever-evolving information we are provided, I continue to trust that my Heavenly Father has not been caught off guard.

Like I said at the beginning, the days ahead are going to be challenging, but more than that, they are going to be filled with opportunities. Be intentional about staying connected. Stay alert for ministry possibilities. Give to Kingdom causes. Share Jesus without fear, and when we are able to come back together, let’s be ready to celebrate all that God has done in, for, and through us!

Julie and I love you.
Your staff and elders love you.
We are praying for you, and we are here to serve you.

In Christ, Jonathan
